As the world gears up to celebrate the International Yoga Day on June 21, the UAE won’t be left behind either. And this country is truly going all out to ensure that the community understands the importance of this activity and how it can help in maintaining one’s physical and mental well-being. So, marking the International Yoga Day, it has been declared that over 35 iconic locations will be hosting community yoga sessions.
Community Yoga To Be Organised Across the UAE
As revealed in a report by the Gulf News, the celebrations this year are expected to be one of the largest yoga celebrations yet. This is evident as it is the ‘Year of Community’ for the UAE. Moreover, the events are expected to attract more than 30,000 participants! In fact, by Wednesday, June 18, 37 locations have been confirmed, and this number is still growing. Several yoga sessions across many yoga centres in the UAE will be supporting the country by holding sessions throughout the nation.
The Theme Of ‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health’
As it happens, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, who is the Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, will also be a chief guest at the International Yoga Day event, which is scheduled to take place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. Held under the theme of ‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health,’ this event is being organised by the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi. Not to mention, it is in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council. Additionally, people can also expect Sania Mirza, the former Indian tennis star to attend the event.

- Bright Riders School, Musaffah (Abu Dhabi)
- New Academy School, Dubai
- Tennis & Country Club Fujairah
- DAMAC Hills Park (multiple spots)
- Danube Sports World
- Jumeirah Park
- DATCO Labour Camp
- Eco Yoga Sanctuary, Dubai
It’s expected that some of these sessions will also be taking place on Sunday. This is on June 22, for an extended celebration. A part of the ongoing commitment to community well-being, the International Yoga Day event aims to unite people through wellness and not just celebrate yoga in the UAE.
