After the success of its predecessor, which travelled between Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, and Mumbai Central, this new project is evidence of the growing demand for high-tech rail connectivity. Second Vande Bharat Express to Revolutionise Ahmedabad-Mumbai Travel

With plans to run between Ahmedabad and Mumbai Central, a second Vande Bharat Express is soon to be launched. According to the Times of India, the pilot programme for this new service has already begun. It has been exciting for the commuters with the promise of an improved rail connection.

The first Vande Express began service between Mumbai Central, Ahmedabad, and Gandhinagar on September 30, 2022. It was christened by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which is what inspired this expansion idea. Demand drives the railway’s aspirations for expansion. It is evidenced by the startling 142% average daily ridership in October, which clocked in at 1596 passengers from Mumbai to Gandhinagar and 1646 passengers returning

A detailed timetable can be found in the trial schedule for the second Vande Bharat Express. It leaves Ahmedabad at 6.10 in the morning and speeds towards Mumbai Central, arriving at its destination by 11.35 in the morning. After leaving Mumbai Central at 3:55 p.m., the return trip arrives in Ahmedabad at 9:25 p.m.

The planning of a Vande Bharat Express connecting Pune and Vadodara is presently underway. As per the Times of India, the proposed itinerary indicates that the trial run will leave Vadodara at 4:35 pm and arrive in Vasai at 8:40 pm. However, the trial run’s precise date is still undisclosed. Return travel departs from Vasai at 11.37 am and reaches Vadodara at 3.30 pm. The trial run’s Pune portion remains unrevealed.

In addition, Southern Railway will begin offering a dedicated Vande Bharat service between Chennai Egmore and Tirunelveli on November 9. This deliberate action was done to deal with the increase in tourists during Diwali. As per Times of India reports, the train departs Chennai Egmore at 6 am. It makes stops at Tambaram, Villupuram, Trichy, Dindigul, Madurai, and Virudhunagar before arriving in Tirunelveli at 2:15 pm. The return journey leaves at 3 pm and reaches Chennai Egmore by 11:15 pm.

Vande Bharat Express, a flagship project of the ‘Make in India’ initiative, is a well-liked choice in the vast tapestry of Indian railways. The fifteen routes that these trains travel, such as Mumbai-Goa, Patna-Howrah, Chennai-Vijayawada, and Tirunelveli-Chennai, offer more than just connectivity. With amenities like WiFi, entertainment screens, and large windows, they bring in a new era of comfort and convenience while providing a variety of inexpensive travel experiences.
