The airline just introduced new direct flights in multiple domestic routes and here’s all you need to know about this launch.
Air India Express Announced The Launch Of 6 New Direct Flights
The airline’s recent announcement surprised everyone as the concerned authorities introduced a total of six new daily direct flights in a single day. It is a significant step in expanding operations and strengthening its domestic flight routes and nationwide network. Five out of these daily direct flight routes are completely new to Air India Express’s network.
These new flights started operating on August 12, 2024, and the routes are:
- Chennai-Bhubaneswar
- Chennai-Bagdogra
- Chennai-Thiruvananthapuram
- Kolkata-Varanasi
- Kolkata-Guwahati
- Guwahati-Jaipur
According to a recently released press note, “the newly introduced Guwahati-Jaipur flight is an exclusive route.” Air India Express noticed a surge in demand for flights connecting Chennai and Thiruvananthapuram. To cater to passengers’ needs on the Chennai-Thiruvananthapuram route, the airline launched this daily flight operation. In addition to the latest announcement, two flights operate on this network every week. Currently, the airline runs nine flights here weekly.

- Chennai-Bhubaneswar: Daily flights depart from Chennai at 7:45 AM and reach Bhubaneswar at 9:30 AM.
- Bhubaneswar-Chennai: Flights take off at 10 AM and arrive in Chennai at 12 PM every day.
- Chennai-Bagdogra: Air Indian Express daily flights operate on this route. Every plane operating here departs at 12:35 PM and lands in Bagdogra at 3:10 PM.
- Bagdogra-Chennai: The journey from Bagdogra starts at 3:40 PM and reaches its destination at 6:15 PM.
- Chennai-Thiruvananthapuram: Flights depart at 6:50 PM and arrive at the Thiruvananthapuram airport at 8:20 PM.
- Thiruvananthapuram-Chennai: Air Indian Express weekly flights from Thiruvananthapuram on this route take off at 8:50 PM and reach at 10:20 PM.
- Kolkata-Varanasi: Daily flights commence their journeys from Kolkata at 7:40 AM and land at Varanasi airport at 9:05 AM.
- Varanasi-Kolkata: The journey from Varanasi starts at 9:40 AM and reaches Kolkata at 11:10 AM.
- Kolkata-Guwahati: Flights depart Kolkata at 12:10 PM and arrive in Guwahati at 1:25 PM.
- Guwahati-Kolkata: Air Indian Express weekly flights take off from Guwahati at 8:50 PM and lands at Kolkata airport at 10:05 PM.
- Guwahati-Jaipur: Air Indian Express flights take off from Guwahati at 1:55 PM and reach Jaipur at 4:35 PM.
- Jaipur-Guwahati: Journey begins from Jaipur at 5:05 PM and reaches Guwahati at 7:50 PM.
