We have some good news for all you travel lovers! Air India Express is expanding its domestic network and has announced the addition of two new stations — Jammu and Sri Vijaya Puram (Port Blair). They will begin operations at these airports from December 1 and bookings are now open on these routes.
Air India Express Expands Operations In Jammu And Sri Vijaya Puram
Air India Express has added two new destinations to its rapidly growing domestic network – Jammu and Sri Vijaya Puram. From December 1, the airline will connect Jammu with direct flights to Delhi and Srinagar. On the same day, they will also kickstart direct flights from Sri Vijaya Puram to Bengaluru and Kolkata. Bookings for both routes are now open on Air India Express’ website and mobile app.
Talking about the airline’s expanding network, Aloke Singh, Managing Director of Air India Express, said, “We are delighted to announce the expansion of our domestic network to Jammu and the Andaman Islands this holiday season. AIX continues to scale up its presence in the domestic India market, on the back of a rapidly growing fleet. We have recently added stations and capacity in the north-east and south, and now offer a compelling pan-India domestic product, besides our large, short haul international, living up to our mission of being new India’s Smart Connector.”
Route Details, Timings & All You Need To Know
As per Air India Express’ notification, the airline will operate 14 weekly flights directly connecting to two domestic destinations including Delhi and Srinagar. They will run daily flights on this route from December 1. The Jammu-Delhi flight will depart at 3:45 PM and arrive in Delhi at 5:20 PM. From Delhi, a daily flight will depart at 10:45 AM and arrive in Jammu at 12:10 PM.
Additionally, the airline will also provide one-stop connectivity to nine domestic destinations in Jammu. This includes Bengaluru, Bhubaneshwar, Goa, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Mumbai, Pune, and Surat and three international destinations – Bahrain, Dammam, and Muscat.
Between Sri Vijaya Puram and Bengaluru, Air India Express will run daily flights. The flight will depart from Bengaluru at 10:50 AM and reach Sri Vijaya Puram at 1:15 PM. For the return journey, the flight will depart Port Blair at 1:50 PM and reach Bengaluru at 4:20 PM.
For the Sri Vijaya Puram-Kolkata route, the airline will run two flights every day. The flight from Port Blair will depart at 8:35 AM and 12:20 PM every day. From Kolkata, the flights will take off at 5:40 PM and 9:20 PM.
