X User Shares Disastrous Experience With Air India

If you check-in your baggage with @airindia, this is FUN, disastrous and you need to know this.. pic.twitter.com/rcoPU6mQLs

Pratik Rai, @praaatiiik, was flying with Air India to Bengaluru with his friend. While they were at the baggage conveyor belt, his friend’s luggage arrived. After waiting for a while, he realised that his baggage was missing, so he went and reported it at the counter. As per Air India’s baggage tracking system, his bag was in Bengaluru. He reported the same to the authorities and they told him that they were trying to find the luggage.
Now, it’s been 2 days since.
Zero calls,
Zero emails.I called multiple times to go to unanswered numbers. And now, I’m being updated that the bag was never loaded and it’s in Delhi Lost&Found department.
Like, how can you make such tech and mess it up.
— Pratik Rai (@praaatiiik) January 23, 2025
Since it was already midnight, he registered his complaint and was assured the baggage would be delivered within 24 hours. Fast forward to two days and he got no update from the airline. In the X (formerly Twitter) post, he shared, “I called multiple times to go to unanswered numbers. And now, I’m being updated that the bag was never loaded and it’s in the Delhi Lost&Found department. Like, how can you make such tech and mess it up.”
And guess what???
I stumbled upon this website luggagelosers which collects the most bag misplaced/list airlines in the world. And guess who is at the top?? pic.twitter.com/r6AypTYijS
— Pratik Rai (@praaatiiik) January 23, 2025
Pratik mentioned that his bag had a lot of valuables and he is sure he won’t be compensated anywhere close to it! He also found some interesting data online that listed airlines from all over the world that have the highest “Probability of losing/delaying your luggage”. And guess where Air India was placed on the list? In second place!
Netizens React & Share Their Two Cents
As you can imagine, Netizens had a lot to say about this incident with Air India. Many people in the comments suggested Pratik use Air Tags to avoid such situations in the future. While others shared their own experience. A few even pointed out how such incidents have become quite common with Air India. Here are some comments you cannot miss out on.
ALWAYS put an AirTag in your checked-in bag.
— Sumukh Rao (@RaoSumukh) January 23, 2025
Put airtag next time and track it 😊
— No To Caste Reservation (@psotushar) January 23, 2025
Are Air Tags allowed by Airlines, if yes, then it’s a cheaper solution to this problem, rather than losing your precious luggage

AIR INDIA TRULY SUCKSS BRO!!!
Last time, by mistake, I kept a 20,000mAh power bank in my check-in bag. They threw it in the garbage in front of me but didn’t return it.

Close one flew into Delhi from Australia, luggage stays back in Delhi. She comes to Bangalore. AI customer care doesn’t know where the baggage is. Some say it’s in Bangalore but it’s not. Complaint lodged with airport police and all of a sudden they “found” our bag…
— self-made indian (@selfmadein005) January 24, 2025
Actually their baggage policy is horrible

Welcome to the club. This happens very often for domestic flights out of Delhi, especially at night. A lot of international flights landing in Delhi and connecting to other cities. Huge baggage overloadhttps://t.co/adCg6B9tqd

Tell us something we don’t know already..
— Sundar Raj (@sundarrhere) January 23, 2025
Its not just Air India, All Airlines does this! Humans can make gigantic air-planes but can not make a good baggage loading system.
