Air India is soon going to be the first carrier to operate international flights from North Goa’s Manohar International Airport. Yes, the airline will be launching flights from Goa’s Mopa airport to London’s Gatwick Airport. It is the second-largest airport in the United Kingdom, and services will begin on July 21. Air India To Launch Flights From Goa’s Mopa To London’s Gatwick.

Tata Group-owned Air India is soon going to launch international flights from North Goa’s Mopa airport. Air India will operate flights from Manohar International Airport to Gatwick Airport starting July 21.

This service will be operated three times a week. The airline shared this news on its official social media handle and mentioned that the flight will be a tribute to Mario Miranda. It also wrote that Mario Miranda is their favourite artist and will forever be a part of Air India’s art legacy.

Mario Miranda was a cartoonist who was awarded the Padma Vibhushan and the Padma Shri. He was known for his amazing strokes, which narrated the stories of Mumbai and Goa.

Thrice A Week Service

This new service by Air India will operate three times a week from Goa’s Manohar International Airport. Talking about in total, the airline operates about 49 flights per week from the United Kingdom.

It already operated about 43 flights to Heathrow and Gatwick airports in London. The airline operates 31 weekly flights from Mumbai and Delhi to London’s Heathrow. Air India also operates six flights to Birmingham.

The much awaited Goa airport was inaugurated in January this year. Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke during the inauguration of this new international airport about how it will bring more opportunities and investments. It will also generate many employment opportunities. There were also many connectivity and infrastructure projects that will boost rural connectivity and boost tourism.
