Air New Zealand is back at it again! The airline just got awarded the world’s best airline for the year 2023. Interestingly, this is not the first time when they got crowned with this prestigious recognition. The Kiwi airline rose to the first rank on the list of ‘The Airline Of The Year 2023’ after ranking second the last year. Air NZ has always been known for receiving awards for its services and this recognition is another golden feather in the cap.
Air New Zealand Is The Airline Of The Year 2023 Once Again!
Beating the former winner Qatar Airways at the second rank, Air New Zealand clinched the first rank to become the best in the world. The Auckland-based airline defeated Qatar Airways this year. Interestingly, Qatar Airways was the back-to-back winner of this recognition in the years 2021 and 2022.

The rating for the best airline in the world has been evaluated by AirlineRatings.com. To curate the ranked list, more than 350 airlines were considered, according to a report by Republic World. There were some specific benchmarks to judge the ranks of so many renowned airlines from all around the world. Some of the considered set of standards to evaluate the results are:
- Comfort of flyers
- Profitability
- Relations with staff
- Safety protocols
- Value for money
To assess the results of this award, a team of experienced editors were present. AirlineRatings.com stated that 5 editors with more than 180 years of combined aviation experience evaluated the results of the Airline Excellence Awards.
