If you’re planning to fly out of the country for Christmas or New Year’s Eve celebrations then you won’t like what we need to tell you. Despite the festive occasions being over a month away, airfares for international flights departing from Hyderabad have increased drastically.
Ahead Of Christmas & New Year, Airfares Increase By 2-3 Times
As per a report by The Times of India or TOI, flight tickets to international destinations from Hyderabad, from December 21 to January 1 have risen significantly. This is the busiest season for overseas trips. After all, this is that time of the year when schools close for winter vacations and companies offer holidays to their employees from one week to 10 days.
There is a heavy surge in both domestic and international travel demand. Moreover, popular attractions like Wonderland at Gardens by the Bay, Dubai Shopping Festival, World Christmas Market and Christmas Bazaars in Malaysia add to the travel demand. Also, both Thailand and Dubai are known for extravagant New Year and Christmas celebrations. So, it isn’t surprising that there has been a surge in airfares to Singapore, London, Thailand, Malaysia and Sri Lanka.
The airfares have increased by two to three times the usual rates. The airfare from Hyderabad to Dubai costs ₹18,000 to ₹36,000 during December 22 to 24. Whereas the regular fares were priced between ₹12,000 and ₹16,000. In the first week of January, a flight to London that would typically cost ₹40,000 to ₹50,000 now costs a whopping ₹1 lakh to ₹2.4 lakh.

When it comes to Middle East destinations, Abdul Majeed Faheem, Chairman of the Travel Agents Federation of India spoke about their attraction.
