As the population is increasing, there is a demand for a sustainable approach. Whether it is fuel or electricity, everything should be sustainable and renewable so that our next generation can thrive. In keeping with it, AIX Connect has operated its first commercial flight using sustainable aviation fuel.
India’s First Sustainable Aviation Fuel Operated Commercial Flight!
AIX Connect operated the country’s first flight using a blend of indigenous Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). The flight of former AirAsia India airline departed from Pune to New Delhi. In fact, the fuel was supplied by Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL) and Praj Industries Ltd. It was such a significant moment that Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri, received the passengers!
This flight marks a crucial turning point in the nation’s efforts to promote environmentally friendly aircraft. It also demonstrates the dedication of the companies to create and promote homegrown solutions. This will lessen the effects of aviation on the environment and open the door for the widespread adoption of SAF in India.

Moreover, the entire project was conducted under the supervision of the Ministries of Civil Aviation and Petroleum and Natural Gas.
Significant Mile In Achieving Net Zero Emission
This event is a significant milestone in achieving net zero emissions. According to the Union Minister, he is happy to take part in this historic event and board the first commercial flight to use ATF that was blended locally by the SAF. The SAF mixing up to 1% as a demonstration mode would be used for the first time on a domestic commercial passenger trip. By 2025, India will need about 14 crore litres of SAF annually if they were to achieve its goal of 1% SAF blending in jet fuel. India needs roughly 70 crore litres of SAF per year, which is a more ambitious goal if they aim for a 5% SAF blend.
