Akasa Air will begin flying from Delhi next month as it seeks to expand its operations in north India. Since launching services in August, the low-cost airline has expanded to several cities in western and southern India. And soon, you can start booking flights between Delhi and Ahmedabad starting October 7, 2022. According to the company’s website, fares for this route start at ₹4,578. Akasa Air has also begun flight bookings from Delhi to Bangalore from October 7. The fare for this route is currently around ₹7,005.
Akasa Air May Announce Additional Destinations In The Coming Months
Akasa Air currently flies to Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Kochi, Chennai, and Bangalore. It has completed its month-long operations on September 7, expanding its fleet and adding another aircraft to join the company shortly. As the fleet grows, Akasa may announce more destinations in the coming months.
The airline has opted for narrow body Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, with 18 more scheduled to be added during the current fiscal year, for a total backlog of 72 aircraft.

With the assistance of the late Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, the airline launched its first flight from Mumbai (BOM) to Ahmedabad (AMD) on August 7. Since then, it has expanded its services to several cities such as Kochi (COK), Bangalore (BLR), and Chennai (MAA). Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, who passed away on August 14, owns more than 40% of his stake in the airline. The airline is led by CEO and founder Vinay Dube and co-founder Aditya Ghosh.
Ghosh served as president of India’s largest airline IndiGo for ten years till 2018. Dube is an industry expert with great working experience with airlines such as Delta, GoFIRST, and Jet Airways.
