Dubai, it’s time to put on those dancing shoes! Akon, the American singer, songwriter, and actor is coming to the city this weekend. This one’s definitely going to be a crowd puller, we bet. The ‘Smack That’ singer is all set to make Dubai groove to his feet-tapping numbers at BASE on Friday, 27 September.
One of the most-loved singers, Akon is coming to Dubai this Friday and we can’t keep calm! He released his first single ‘Locked Up’ in 2004 and ever since then, there has been no turning back. Akon has bagged two record labels, and three nominations the Grammy award in two categories. He also released his first Latin single ‘Get Money’, in May 2019.What’s It?
Well, so many credits up his collar, we are certain this weekend will be a one to remember. The superstar will take stage at BASE on Friday September 27, FROM 11:00 pm onwards. In addition, guests can also enjoy FREE beverages from 11:00 -1:00 pm.
And, this is not the first time Akon is performing in Dubai. The singer performed a gig at BASE Dubai last March and in other venues in the city back in 2016, 2014 and 2008.

That’s not all we have to look forward to! The world-renowned musician and Oscar winner AR Rahman is all set to enthrall the audience in Dubai this November. The award-winning musician will be going live on November 15, Friday in Coca Cola Arena at City Walk.
The music director is renowned across the world for his soulful renditions fusing Ethnic music with contemporary instruments from around the globe. Famously known as the Mozart of Madras, he has songs in various regional Indian languages as well as Hindi. Additionally, The British world-music magazine Songlines named him one of “Tomorrow’s World Music Icons” in 2011.
The musician is undoubtedly going to be treat to the ears with his discography ranging from Hindi, Telugu to Tamil- from where he began his career. Having composed soundtracks for over 100 films, his most famous ones are the Oscar-winning Jai Ho from Slumdog Millionaire and Dil Se among others.
“I always look forward to performing there. Dubai is like a melting pot of cultures. Each time I come back, I get so much love from the people Sand it’s overwhelming. I am happy to announce my next concert in Dubai on November 15 at the Coca-Cola Arena. I am accompanied by my talented band and singers.
