Al-Futtaim IKEA Ends ‘Earth Weeks’ Campaign
The celebrated event was attended by Francois Brice, Fuel & Commercial Executive Director at EWEC, along with other notable members. It shared a spotlight on its successful initiatives and campaigns, which took place during the ‘Earth Weeks.’ In case you’re wondering, this is the brand’s six-week, sustainability-focused period, which began from mid-March and continued till the end of April.
Happening under the theme of “Start at Home,” there was constant engagement of customers and colleagues in climate-conscious practices. Promoting practical everyday actions, such as energy saving, recycling, reducing food waste, and reusing, this campaign truly served as building blocks of sustainable living.
As it happens, “Switch-Off Trade Off,” was one of the most creative activations of the campaign. Re-imagining Earth Hour, Al-Futtaim IKEA employees turned off the lights in the offices and showrooms on behalf of their community members. Especially, those who were tied up with essential tasks! “Wait for the Drop” was another highlight of the campaign that introduced a unique online playlist. These included tracks that mimic the sound of running water, thereby promoting mindful use of water in bathrooms. Finally, for Mother’s Day, they honoured mothers as the original sustainability heroes. Through this initiative, they recognised their everyday efforts for the family and the planet.
