Trust author Shaheen Bhatt in cahoots with entrepreneur and pastry chef Pooja Dhingra to come up with the cutest birthday cake for Alia Bhatt. The Darlings actress rang in her 32nd birthday with a cake baked by her bestie thanks to a challenge thrown in by her sister. The result? A delicious Moong Dal Cake! Let’s tell you all about it.
Pooja Dhingra Prepares Moong Dal Halwa Cake For Alia Bhatt
A post by Le15 Patisserie’s official Instagram page sent Alia Bhatt fans into a tizzy. After all, the post was all about Alia Bhatt’s unique birthday cake. A blend of French patisserie and desi mithai. The post revealed that a ‘moong dal halwa cake’ request led them to make an insanely delicious halwa with toasted praline and crunch cake. Apart from the moreish cake, the team at Le15 Patisserie curated a Halwa Hazelnut Chocolate.
The cake is made of rich moong dal halwa decorated with Pooja Dhingra’s signature macarons and tempered chocolate. It’s topped with gold foil and a piece of tempered white chocolate with the writing ‘Happy Birthday Alia’. While the cake was the highlight at Alia’s birthday party, the Halwa Hazelnut Chocolate enjoyed its moment too. The decadent chocolate held within it a layer of moong dal halwa as hazelnut caramel oozed out of it.
A Challenge Thrown By Sister Shaheen Bhatt
Author Shaheen Bhatt revealed on Instagram that she always throws ‘insane cake requests’ at pastry chef Pooja Dhingra. Bhatt admitted that Dhingra never fails to over-deliver. This year, Shaheen asked the chef to prepare a Moong Dal Halwa Cake for her sister Alia Bhatt. Needless to say the pastry chef and her friend “killed it” this time as well. Like all culinary creators, Pooja sportingly took on the challenge and aced it. She thanked Shaheen for throwing this challenge at her.

This cake proves that desi mithai and French pastry can come together to create something so delicious that it’s actually a celeb-approved favourite. Perhaps it will start a new trend of Moong Dal Halwa Cakes.
