It is a truth now universally known that women play an indispensable role in society. Despite prejudices and biases in society against them, they have managed to rise above it all and leave their mark in every possible field. This includes the Indian Army which now witnesses the participation of many brave women. Recently, an all-women motorcycle rally consisting of only female members of all three branches of the Indian Armed Forces was flagged off. Here are all the details about this particular rally.

In an attempt to celebrate and inspire many, an all-women expedition will be undertaken by women of the Indian Armed Forces. A total of 25 women are participating in an expedition which will last seven days long.
Ten of them are serving officers in the Indian Army. One each is from the Navy and the Airforce. Two are Veer Naris or War Widows, one of whom is also a serving officer in the Indian Army, three women soldiers from the army, and eight spouses of army personnel.
The expedition began yesterday on the 18th of July from the National War Memorial or the NWM in Delhi. It is set to end on the 25th of July at the Kargil War Memorial in Dras. The expedition is being undertaken to celebrate 24 years of the historic victory of India over Pakistan in the Kargil War.

This particular expedition is from the NWM to the Kargil War Memorial. The expedition will also travel through various Indian states like Haryana, Punjab, and the mountains of Jammu and Kashmir. The Indian Armed Forces have partnered with TVS Motors for this initiative.
On their expedition, they will also interact with NCC students and cadets from different colleges and schools. It is hoped that the students will gain inspiration from these accomplished women. The Expedition will cover a whopping 1000 kilometres in a matter of a week.
