Ammy Virk Recommended Rajma Rice From This Spot In Chandigarh

The Punjabi Munda and a gastronome, Ammy, is deeply connected to his roots. He fondly talked about his love for food, especially when in Punjab. The actor claimed to have relished the best rajma rice near his Chandigarh home! We wanted more details about this eatery.

He shared that one Sikh uncle operates this eatery with three to four of his workers at Phase 7 in Mohali. They start at around 11 in the morning and by 3 in the afternoon, everything is polished off by their loyal customers! Along with the tasty rajma rice, the menu has nutri rice, paneer rice, chole, and more.

But Ammy Virk’s go-to order is rajma rice as he said, “Rajma rice is one of the best (here), maine best apni zindigi mein kabhi nahi khae!” Lastly, he added that people in the music and film industry residing at or near Mohali’s Phase 7 are familiar with this food recommendation and often love to eat there. Continuing on the topic of food and culture in Punjab, Ammy talked about his ancestors’ influence on eating habits. He reflected that before partition, his forefathers belonged to present-day Pakistan. Hence, they inculcated Lahori zaika and its food habits.

After the partition, they moved to present-day Punjab and followed their previous culinary habits. So their meals were rather elaborate as compared to individuals who were already in Punjab. In declaring this, Ammy highlighted that he can never enjoy a meal with just achar or dahi, he needs to have a tasty sabzi with roti.
