The ski resort with a foldable vertical town and a three-kilometre artificial lake is the newest ambitious, architecturally complex proposal.
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Thursday inaugurated the global destination for mountain tourism. It is part of the $500 billion high-tech mega-city Neom in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. It nestles in the Kingdom’s tallest mountain range. Trojena will draw tourists, vacationers, and winter sports lovers from all over the world. When it opens in 2026, here’s what to anticipate.

The new destination helps Saudi Vision 2030’s economic diversification while safeguarding the Kingdom’s natural resources. Apres-ski vibes will be a factor provided by a village mountaintop, including stores, cafés, restaurants, and hotels.

The Vault — a future vertical community, tucked inside the mountains will serve as the starting point for journeys to Trojena. This element is where the innovative architecture and technology integrate reality with the virtual world.
Skiers and snowboarders will be able to hover through the mountain range. They can enjoy the vistas of the Gulf of Aqaba shoreline, the Red Sea, and distant desert sands.
Trojena, the ski resort, will be home to a natural reserve, hiking paths, mountain bike trails, and water sports on a large artificial freshwater lake.
Visitors to Trojena should dress all year warmly, as the region has a lower average temperature than the vast majority of the country.
