Anand Mahindra, the Chairman of the Mahindra Group took to X to share his admiration for Kanhakund, a natural wonder in Odisha. In reply to a post calling it the grand canyon of Odisha, Mahindra expressed his appreciation for the beauty of the place. He also tagged Odisha Tourism’s official X handle and asked them how this location can be made into a national and international attraction.
Anand Mahindra Talks About This Spot
A user on X, Aaaryansh, posted about Kanhakund in Odisha. In this post, he talked about the clear blue waters passing through the granite beds in this place. At the end of his post, he wondered why such beautiful places are not seen on the tourism map of the country. Having seen this post, Anand Mahindra decided to do something to get Kanhakund on the tourism map of India.
In his reply, he asked people to stop calling it the grand canyon of India, deeming it special in its own right. Some comments on this post have also called these images of the location photoshopped. He addressed these comments, saying that even if they were photo shopped to a certain degree, the formations are still ‘amazing’. He has tagged Odisha Tourism in the post asking them what can be done to make this firstly a national haven and later a globally known attraction, too.
The Odisha Tourism account replied to him saying that in order to highlight these and many other underappreciated gems, they were trying to improve infrastructure, develop eco-friendly travel experiences, and advertise these distinctive locations both domestically and beyond.

This charming area is distinguished by its distinctive river with stone beds, where the Ib River has carved a magnificent valley over thousands of years. Because of the erosion, there are now striking rock formations and deep valleys, some of which are more than 300 meters deep.
