According to NDTV, the Tirumala Tirupati Temple will get a state-of-the-art Artificial Intelligence-Integrated Command Control Centre (ICC) soon. This initiative in India is expected to transform crowd management and improve services for pilgrims visiting the sacred hill shrine.

Reports suggest that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will inaugurate India’s first AI-integrated CC Centre at the temple on Thursday. How will it work? Well, the new ICC, established at the Vaikuntham-1 Complex, will use artificial intelligence to provide real-time data and insights to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) officials.

A big digital screen has been put up at the centre. It will display a live feed from CCTV cameras across the temple premises. Furthermore, it will monitored by a team of over 25 technical experts.

The temple authorities plan to use AI to make crowd and darshan management more convenient for thousands of devotees who come to seek blessings of the Kali Yuga deity at Tirumala Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple. The AI-powered cameras have facial recognition technology. The system will help authorities track the number of pilgrims in queue lines. It will also estimate waiting times for darshan, allowing officials to manage the flow of devotees more efficiently.

In addition to the existing ones, the AI cameras will also help in cases of accidents and other untoward incidents. The new system will also generate 3D maps to show ground-level conditions to TTD officials. This will help identify crowded areas and help prevent congestion in the temple premises.
