With the arrival of the winter season in India, densely populated cities are back to making headlines for worsening pollution and alarming Air Quality Index (AQI). From North to South and East to West, many places nationwide are experiencing horrible polluted conditions this year. Here Are The AQI Updates For Delhi, Mumbai & Other Places In India
Residents living in different Indian cities are highlighting the issues and raising questions on social media platforms. In addition, they are sharing pictures of toxic, smog-covered surroundings, showing the miserable conditions in many areas. Here are some pictures and updates shared by Netizens.
Delhi and neighbouring areas are facing a miserable time since the past 2-3 weeks. With a dip in temperature and surge in pollution, Delhiites are waking up to surroundings covered in blankets of toxic air and smog. The visibility often gets disrupted as well. Residents started falling sick with a surge in demand for masks, air purifiers, and nebulisers.
The only good news here is that Delhi’s AQI has improved to a small extent. Though it continues to be India’s most polluted city, its AQI reached the ‘poor’ category.
Mumbai’s AQI is reportedly worsening every passing day. Mumbaikars are shocked to see smog-covered skies all around. Some pictures on social media show how bridges and buildings established far away are completely invisible due to air pollution. This city’s AQI was recorded as 121.
Navi Mumbai’s air quality is degrading as well. People are complaining about the same on social media and asking authorities to address the significant concern.
