The wonderful actor with a perfect sense of humour, Arshad Warsi, got candid with our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, for this fun episode of Tere Gully Mein. His phenomenal performances in movies like ‘Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.’, ‘Ishqiya’ and ‘Dhamaal’ among others have cemented his position in Bollywood. We enjoyed the picturesque Goa with its amazing seafood paired with interesting conversations about anything and everything. The actor also shared his adorable love story with his wife, Maria Goretti.
This Is How Arshad Warsi’s Met The Gorgeous Maria Goretti
We were already on the topic of love and were inquisitive about Arshad Warsi’s precious love story with his then-girlfriend-now-wife, Maria Goretti! She is a TV anchor and an actor who gained fame through her time as a VJ on MTV India. Kamiya asked our guest how he bagged Maria as a lifetime partner, who was also totally out of his league!
Arshad chuckled and told us that he still wasn’t aware of how he wooed her! He narrated a story of how they met for the first time. Back in the day, he was a choreographer along with a theatre artist for plays. One time he was judging a dance competition when Ravi Behl, an actor and television producer, advised him to look out for a girl with a cute smile from St. Andrew’s College!
He scanned the crowds for that cute smile until Ravi pointed out the girl. That’s when he saw Maria for the first time.

Their Love Story Blossomed!
Arshad told us that she was a great dancer and he approached her then and there. Arshad asked her out to watch one of his plays which she declined. Until one day, she agreed to attend a musical play. Actor Arshad continued, “We very organically and gradually started liking each other but she liked me more and refused to confess it!”
He revealed that initially, Maria fell for him harder than he did. She was head over heels in love with him, however, never disclosed it. Our guest recalled their trip to Dubai where he had given his wife half a can of Heineken. She revealed her true feelings for him right after.

That half a can of Heineken truly worked its magic! And they have been happily married since 1999 and blessed with two kids. In real life, Munna Bhai ke Circuit ko akhir kar electricity mil hi gayi! IYKYK.
