The northeastern region falls in a high seismic zone, making earthquakes a frequent phenomenon there. According to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS), an earthquake of a magnitude of 3.3 on the Richter scale struck Arunachal Pradesh’s Tawang on Saturday, July 22, 2023 morning. The earthquake struck at 6:56 a.m., occurring at a depth of 5 kilometres, according to the NCS.

An earthquake of a magnitude of 3.3 struck Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday morning. The earthquake happened at 6:56 a.m. So yet, no property damage or injuries have been recorded.
The National Centre for Seismology tweeted, “Earthquake of Magnitude:3.3, Occurred on 22-07-2023, 06:56:08 IST, Lat: 27.44 & Long: 92.51, Depth: 5 Km, Location: Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh.”
On May 22, Arunachal Pradesh was struck by an earthquake measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale. Tremors were reported at 8:15 a.m., around 86 kilometres southeast of Changlang, according to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS).
Earlier in February, an earthquake of magnitude 3.8 hit the western part of Arunachal Pradesh. The epicentre of the earthquake was West Kameng, near the Bhutan border, at a depth of 10 km. Even, tremors hit central-north Assam and the eastern part of Bhutan. However, there was no immediate report of any injury to anyone or damage to the property.

On July 21, three earthquakes jolted Rajasthan’s Jaipur within half an hour. The most recent earthquake, measuring magnitude 3.4, struck about 4.25 a.m., according to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS).
The first 4.4 magnitude earthquake struck Jaipur at 04:09:38 IST (4:09 AM). According to the National Centre for Seismology, it happened at a depth of 10 km. The second tremor happened in Jaipur at 04:22:57 IST (4:22 AM). The second earthquake struck the city at a depth of 5 km and with a magnitude of 3.1. The third tremor struck at 04:25:33 IST (4:25 AM), registering 3.4 on the Richter Scale, according to the National Centre for Seismology
These shocks were detected throughout the city in the morning wee hours. The good news was that no substantial losses have occurred as a result of the shocks. According to an India Today article, there have been no reports of deaths, severe accidents, or property devastation.
