It’s no secret that there is something absolutely menacing and scary about storms. Be it cyclones, thunderstorms, or even tornadoes, they have a lot of capacity to leave massive destruction in their wake. As a result, the meteorological departments are always chasing their route warning civilians to keep them safe. And the recent storm that’s brewing in the Arabian Sea, called Biparjoy which means destruction. Here’s what you need to know about this cyclone that is soon to make landfall.
Cyclone Biparjoy To Not Affect The UAE?
There’s been a cyclone, called Biparjoy that’s been brewing since last week in the Arabian Sea. The cyclone has recently been upgraded from Category 1 to Category 2 on a scale wherein Category 5 is considered to be the most severe. And now, it is expected to make landfall in the region between Kutch in India and Karachi in Pakistan, on Thursday, June 15. However, what does it mean for the UAE? If you are also worried that the cyclone might affect the country, you have no need to worry.
In a report published by the National News, it was mentioned that the UAE’s weather centre said on Monday, June 12, that this cyclone will have no impact on the country. The reason for this has been attributed to the fact that it is going straight ahead after its arrival in India and Pakistan later this week. Yes, the report mentioned that the National Centre of Meteorology assured the public even last week that the cyclone was less likely to affect the UAE as they continued to monitor the situation.

The Cyclone To Make A Landfall Soon
However, with this being said, it must be noted that this cyclone is currently centred in the Eastern Arabian Sea (at least until Sunday). Moreover, the cyclone was classified into an extremely severe cyclonic storm by the Indian Meteorological Department on Sunday, and it has been moving Northeast. Authorities are evacuating people in the low-lying areas on the Western coast of India as the cyclone is expected to make landfall in Gujarat on Thursday.
