Asha Bhosle

People go gaga over a glass of pastel pink-coloured solkadhi! It is a refreshing and digestive drink served with meals in Maharashtra and the Konkan region of India. Turns out, even Asha Bhosle loves solkadhi! But only for the one she makes. She was born to a Marathi Brahmin family and raised in Pune. Hence, she is well-versed in lip-smacking Maharashtrian cuisine. On this lovely Sunday Brunch episode in Dubai, Asha ji revealed her perfect solkadhi recipe to our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani. Read on to learn the recipe.

Asha Bhosle Will Always Go For Solkadhi Over Aam Panna

Asha ji is a typical Maharashtrian and loves to indulge in drool-worthy food. She not only loves to cook good food but also extends her love for cooking to her restaurants around the world. This time, we played a fun game of ‘This or That’ with the singer and the options were focused on Maharashtrian food. Our guest had to choose her favourite food item.

Kamiya asked Asha ji to pick between vada pav or misal pav. The singer picked the latter as it is spicier than vada pav. She also mentioned that she likes the way misal pav is a little crunchy with the additional namkeen mix on top. Next, were puran poli or modak and she picked the first option.

Among these, one choice was between solkadhi or aam panna. To which the singer replied, “Solkadhi, joh mere haath ki bani hoti hai; baaki logo ko aata nahi hai,” and giggled. On hearing this, Kamiya was curious to learn this special recipe and enquired more.
