Dubai’s coffee scene just got a serious upgrade. Australian specialty roaster The Reformatory Lab has officially landed in the UAE, opening its first international store at W Residences. If you think this is just another café, think again. This isn’t your average flat white and croissant spot, it’s a full-blown coffee revolution.
The Reformatory Lab Brings Its Bold Coffee Game to Dubai
From Sydney to the Sand Dunes
Founded in Sydney in 2013 by fourth-generation Colombian coffee farmer Simon Jaramillo, The Reformatory Lab is known for its out-of-the-box approach to coffee. Inspired by comic books and a passion for unique flavours, the brand sources beans from coffee powerhouses like Colombia, India, Indonesia, Costa Rica, Panama, Ethiopia, Kenya, Burundi, El Salvador, Java, and Brazil. Now, it’s ready to shake up the UAE’s caffeine culture.
Big Plans, Bold Flavours
Thanks to Emirati property developer Arada, this launch is just the beginning. Over the next few years, The Reformatory Lab plans to roll out 10 more locations across Dubai, Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi. A central roastery in Dubai is also in the works, which will allow the brand to create bespoke blends for businesses across the region.
Ahmed Alkhoshaibi, Group CEO of Arada, believes this isn’t just about coffee—it’s about an experience.
Coffee, But Make It an Experience
The Reformatory Lab isn’t here to serve up mediocre brews. With unexpected flavour profiles, premium beans, and a serious commitment to quality, this brand is all about pushing boundaries.
And it’s not just about coffee. The Lab’s menu includes baked goods and snacks crafted with fine-dining precision, elevating the entire café experience. Whether you’re grabbing a quick espresso or settling in for a slow sip, expect every detail to be meticulously curated.

More Coffee, More Choices
Dubai’s specialty coffee scene is heating up, and The Reformatory Lab isn’t alone in the race. Australian roaster ONA Coffee has also announced plans to set up shop in Dubai later this year. For caffeine enthusiasts, this means more choices, more flavours, and more reasons to indulge in a truly exceptional brew.
So, if you’re in Dubai and looking for a coffee experience that’s anything but ordinary, The Reformatory Lab is the place to be. Say goodbye to boring cups and hello to a new era of coffee craftsmanship.
