Girish, a Bengaluru-based auto driver, found a gold chain in his auto recently. He remembered that the chain belonged to a female passenger he dropped a day before. So, he went out of his way to return the gold chain to its rightful owner. According to a Mint report, Girish enquired in the neighbourhood where he dropped the passenger and searched for her house to return the ornament.
Chitra, the female passenger, shared a video about the whole incident and thanked Girish for his honesty. The video was shared by auto rickshaw aggregator Nagara Metered Auto on X (formerly Twitter). In the video, Chitra explained that she had come to Bengaluru from Mysuru a day before and had lost her gold chain during the trip. She couldn’t recall where she lost her chain and had lost all hopes of finding it.
According to Nagara Metered Auto’s post, since Girish drove Chitra on the fare metre on the day of the incident, it made it easier for the driver to “trace and resolve events like forgotten or lost items of customers.”
