Avoid Staying Above Fourth Floor In A Hotel

Whenever you book your stay in a hotel, you should avoid getting a room above the fourth floor, according to the travel security specialist Lloyd Figgins. In an interview with Sun Online Travel, Figgins said guests should avoid staying below the second storey of the hotel as well. Thus, in Figgins’s words, staying between the second and fourth floors in a hotel are the safest. Wondering why? Why Is It Ideal To Stay Within The Fourth Floor Of A Hotel?

Figgins said it is ideal to stay within the fourth floor of the hotel to act fast if there is a fire breakout. He said that the ladder of the fire department might not reach above the fourth floor. He also stated that after checking into a hotel, guests should figure out the fire escape route and also count the number of doors lying between their room and the fire escape. In short, he suggested that knowing where about the fire exit of the hotel is extremely important.

Why Is It Ideal To Stay Above The First Floor Of A Hotel?

As Figgins said, rooms below the second storey might be easily targeted by miscreants. He also suggested that guests should never utter their room numbers loudly. Instead, they must ask the hotel staff to write down the number for them. This will prevent criminals from knowing the locations of their rooms.
