Ayodhya: Ram Mandir Completion Gets Delayed, Will Now Be Done By Sep 2025; Here’s Why

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the iconic Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on January 22, 2024. Following the grand consecration ceremony, the doors of the temple have been opened for devotees. Along with ongoing celebrations and festivities, constriction at the temple is in continuation as well. The estimated deadline for the entire completion has now been shifted to the next few months due to a major issue.

Ram Mandir’s Completion Slows Down

Taking to X, Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra (@ShriRamTeerth) shared pictures of laying the first layer of stones in the construction of the temple’s Shikhar.

Initially, the completion of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya was slated for June 2025. However, the timeline of the construction faced a delay. Now, the complete project is expected to be over by September 2025, according to a report by The Indian Express. Nripendra Mishra, the construction committee chairman, shared necessary information about the present updates about the project.

He stated that there is a shortage in the number of workers at the current moment. This is one of the key reasons for the major delay in construction. Right now, there is a shortfall of around 200 workers. Another significant reason behind shifting the completion deadline from June to September is the urgency to replace some stones from the first floor of the temple. This revamp is mandatory as these stones are thin and weak.

The construction committee chairman also shared that these unsuitable stones for the first floor will not be used anymore. To make the structure stronger, long-lasting, and more durable, the temple committee will use Makrana stones. These are a much better option to keep the floor sturdy.

More About The Temple Construction

Nripendra Mishra also added that 8.5 lakh cubic feet of red Bansi Paharpur stones have been sent to the holy city in Uttar Pradesh. These will be used to construct the boundary of the mandir. However, the significant problem of labour shortage delayed the process. Different statues made in Jaipur will be installed here. These structures will likely be delivered in Ayodhya by the end of this year.
