Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir is one of the most awaited temples under construction currently in India. The temple’s foundation stone was laid in August 2020 and the installation of the idol is expected to be in January 2024. The management of the trust in charge of the project has increased the number of workers and shift  to speed up completion of the shrine so that it can be opened to worshippers in January 2024.

Construction Of Ayodhya’s Ram Temple Paces

The construction work of Ayodhya’s Ram Temple was formerly done in 18-hour shifts and is now increased to 24×7. The number of workers working at the site have also been increased from 550 to 1,600 in the recent weeks.

The ground floor of the complex, which houses the sanctum sanctorum (garbha griha), has only the flooring and electrical work left to be completed. This is where Lord Ram’s statue will be installed during a big event to celebrate the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ (the deity’s consecration rite) in January 2024.

Radhe Joshi, another project administrator, explained that only carving-related work is halted after dark while other civil activities continue uninterrupted. He was giving media representatives a tour of the high-security temple complex alongside trust member Anil Mishra and the engineering team.

Only Carving-Related Work Is Halted

The ground and first levels of the temple will be finished by January, according to Jagdish Aphale, project manager for the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra, a trust established by the Centre to construct the temple.

He claimed that the ground floor of the Ram temple will be completed by December, and preparation for “Pran Pratistha” is currently one of their top priorities. The first floor’s main structures, including slabs and pillars, will be finished by January so that pilgrims can visit the shrine. Work on this floor also began on July 1.

However, access to the first floor won’t be permitted until March 2024 because the work there won’t be finished by then. (As per The Indian Express)
