Ayodhya’s Ram Temple Draws Over 5.5 Crore Devotees Since Consecration

According to the Uttar Pradesh government, Ayodhya’s Ram Temple has welcomed 5.5 crore devotees from across the world since its consecration on January 22, 2024. With the temple’s completion, Ayodhya has become a major global religious and spiritual destination.

Spiritual tourism is on a boom in India. Places like Varanasi, Rishikesh, Char Dham, and Bodh Gaya have seen an unprecedented surge in tourism over the last few years. This trend extended to Ayodhya as well. Since the consecration of Ram Temple, the city has witnessed an overwhelming influx of devotees. According to data shared by the Uttar Pradesh government, more than 5.5 crore visitors have offered prayers at Ayodhya’s Ram Temple since January 22, 2024.

5.5 Crore Devotees Visited Ayodhya’s Ram Temple

According to a Deccan Herald report, since January 2024, Ayodhya has welcomed more than 5.5 crore devotees from all over India and the world. Since the grand consecration ceremony of Lord Ram at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya in 2024, the city has experienced a surge in tourism like never before.

While the general public has been adding to these numbers, there is also a noticeable contribution from VIPs. As per media reports, more than 4.5 lakh VIPs have visited Ayodhya’s Ram Temple to seek Lord Ram’s blessings. This includes Union ministers, governors, chief ministers from various states, and prominent figures from the entertainment, business and sports sectors.

The pran pratishtha ceremony in January 2024 saw the bigwigs of Indian cinema, politicians, industrialists, and more coming together to celebrate the consecration of Lord Ram at the temple. More recently, Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli visited Ayodhya’s Ram Temple to seek blessings from Ram Lalla.

Arrangements In Place For Efficient & Convenient Darshan

It is to be noted that ever since the completion of the much-awaited grand temple, Ayodhya has become a major global spiritual destination. Understanding this growing interest, the Uttar Pradesh government has also worked to facilitate easier access for both pilgrims and tourists.

From enhancing public transport connectivity to heightened security measures and crowd control management, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said the state government is making arrangements to ensure smooth darshans for all.
