Actor Ayushmann Khurrana tweeted a pic of a drool-worthy dessert ‘Goond Kateera Falooda’ on Twitter. The dish consisted of falooda sev, kulfi and gond kateera. And it looked so yummy! The tweet was captioned as ‘gond kateera supremacy’. Ayushmann does have a soft spot for desserts and you can see this in his Malpua video on Instagram and chena poda, an Odia dessert, on Twitter.
Gond kateera is a crystalline herb and comes in the form of twisted crystals. When dissolved in milk or water, this tasteless, odourless herb changes its appearance. It is a traditional Ayurvedic treatment for a variety of summertime illnesses, including nose bleeding, diarrhoea, the common cold, and the common cough.

Besides being a summer essential herb, it has anti-inflammatory and anti-ageing benefits. It is a natural laxative and boosts the immune system. But, most importantly, it is great for pregnant women as it helps in rebuilding energy and strength in the body.
Netizens Love This Dessert
There is nothing better than relishing cold falooda in summer. Netizens are loving this healthy dessert and have been craving it! In fact, one of the users posted a picture of ‘falooda shiraz’ in the comments section. For many of them, this gond kateera falooda is a reminder of their childhood memories.
This dessert originated from Shiraz in Persia, which is currently in Iran. The traditional Persian dessert falooda is sometimes referred to as faloodeh or faludeh in Persia. And it consisted of vermicelli noodles made from maize flour, rose water and partially frozen sugar syrup. It has been around since 400 BC and was introduced in the Indian subcontinent during the Mughal period.
