The Ramgarh sector, near the International Border, enshrines Baba Dalip Singh Manhas, also known as Baba Chamliyal. He played a significant role in India-Pakistan relations, once considered a symbol of goodwill between the two nations. Notably, delegations from the Pakistan Rangers would visit the shrine, collecting “shakkar” (clay) and “sharbat” (water) believed to possess healing properties for various skin ailments.
To ensure a smooth and successful mela, Samba’s Deputy Commissioner, Abhishek Sharma, recently convened a meeting with officials from various departments. The focus was on expediting ongoing works and finalising logistical arrangements to accommodate the large influx of visitors.
