The pandemic has been long gone but some countries are still fighting against it in silence. But recovery mode is visible in Bahrain as it has announced its COVID Updates. Saudi Citizens can now enter Bahrain’s King Fahd Causeway and are no longer expected to be vaccinated. Let’s understand what are the new updates.

Non Vaccinated Saudi Citizen Can Enter Bahrain’s, King Fahd Causeway

The causeway connecting Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, known as the King Fahd Causeway Authority (KFCA), has changed its travel policies for Saudi nationals.

According to KFCA, it is no longer necessary for Saudi citizens to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, as was the original prerequisite. They no longer have to provide documentation of their immunisation status in order to cross the causeway. The authorities said that the new order went into effect on June 15th, the day after Saudi Arabia’s Interior Ministry decided to allow residents to leave the country without having received a coronavirus vaccination, as was announced on Thursday.

Khobar, Saudi Arabia, and Al Jasra, Bahrain are connected by the 25 km long King Fahd Causeway, which is made up of bridges and causeways.

Ministry Took The Decision Based On Stable Epidemic Conditions

The Ministry said in a statement the decision is based on the relevant health authorities presented with regard to regulating the epidemiological conditions at the local and global levels. The ministry in their statements has clearly given credit to the unlimited support of the wise leadership. It further stated that the relevant authorities would keep an eye on the epidemiological situation.

Despite the conditions being balanced for now, the ministry has said the authorities will still keep an eye on the existing situation for further precautionary measures.

Apart from this news, KFCA was in buzz for the e-payments recently. The King Fahd Causeway Authority (KFCA) made an announcement about the launch of four e-payments facilities in May 2023. It allows travellers to pay and pass through the toll gates on both the Saudi and Bahraini sides.

Using unified and seamless electronic gates, KFCA has offered the 4 e-payment services via the “Jesr” or “Causeway” app. Travellers won’t have to stop to make cash payments; they can pay and proceed through the gates.

The area is developing in a better way and we will see similar updates in the future.
