Bangalore To Get Second Cubbon Park Near Yelahanka
According to a report by Deccan Herald, Revenue Minister R Ashoka announced that the Karnataka government shall develop a second Cubbon Park near Yelahanka in Bangalore. The city will get another lung space on 184-acre land spread across the villages of Sondappanahalli, Kadiganahalli, and Bettahalasur near Yelahanka. R Ashoka announced to The Hindu that the land has already been handed over to the Horticulture Department.

Amphitheatre, Lake & More!
So, what do you need to know about Bangalore’s second Cubbon Park? Well, for starters, this new green space will be named after the founder of Bangalore city, Kempe Gowda. Apart from lush greenery, the new park shall house a beautiful amphitheatre, a serene lake and other amenities. The Revenue Minister also stated to Deccan Herald that Cubbon Park has a rich history of 240 years. He added that no government was successful in developing a park like it.
But after several meetings, the government discussed a plan and identified land, which is just 10 km from Bangalore International Airport to develop this second Cubbon Park. Also, the park which will be named after Kempe Gowda is nestled close to his birthplace, Avati and the land which he ruled over, Yelahanka.

Also, the village of Bettahalasur will soon house a prestigious 100-foot-tall statue of Kempe Gowda made of natural rocks. Horticulture Minister, Munirathna said to Deccan Herald that the stone monolith of the Bangalore founder shall be taller than the statue of Gommateshvara in Shravanabelagola.
