Bangalore Imposes Complete Meat Ban For Ganesh Chaturthi

On August 31, on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) imposed a complete meat ban. The ban will be imposed in all areas of Bangalore within the BBMP limits. So this prohibits the slaughter and sale of meat. Read on to know more.

Meat Ban In Bangalore Earlier Imposed For Janmashtami

The civic body of Bangalore issued a circular earlier on the complete ban on the sale and slaughter of meat in Bangalore on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. Earlier, meat bans were imposed on Janmashtami and Martyrs’ Day. The notice was issued in Kannada informing people that the slaughtering of animals and the sale of meat in sales stalls under BBMP is totally prohibited. A copy of the ban on the sale of meat is attached.

Tamil Nadu’s Kanchipuram Also Bans Meat

And it’s not just Bangalore, even meat and biryani stall owners in Tamil Nadu’s Kanchipuram have been told to shut down their stalls ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations on August 31. This was done to avoid issues during processions held as part of the festivities.
