It’s no secret that different authorities in the UAE take their job of holding the rules quite seriously. In fact, the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) is a great example of one such authority in Abu Dhabi that is constantly on its toes when it comes to ensuring that the restaurants are following all the important guidelines issued by them regarding food handling and safety. However, two restaurants were recently found violating these rules and they were as a result shut down.

ADAFSA Shuts Two Restaurants In Abu Dhabi

Yes, as revealed by the authorities, two restaurants were recently shut down by the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) after they were found making multiple violations that would have impacted public health and safety. We are talking about Bangla Snack Restaurant and Express Darbar Restaurant, both of which were located in the Industrial Junction of the emirates. These restaurants were closed by the ADAFSA as they were found serving high-risk food items repeatedly. This violated the food safety regulations! Not to mention, there was no control of the temperature while the food was being presented. The eateries had also violated hygiene measures. They had done so by not keeping the floors on the surface clean and were touching food without any protective clothing like headbands and gloves.

It Recently Closed Another Restaurant For Flouting Rules

It should be noted that this is not the first time that the ADAFSA has cracked down on a restaurant for violating its regulations. Back in June, Khushab Darbar Restaurant, which was located in Mafraq Industrial City, had also been shut down. They had been shut down for violating food safety regulations multiple times and there was a poor level of hygiene in food handling and storage areas. In fact, the interior also failed to keep its equipment and refrigerators clean. Not to mention, their ceiling and floors in the preparation area were not in good condition either and just a week ago, insects were found in the kitchen, amongst other issues.

The ADAFSA has constantly encouraged residents to report about any problem that they encounter at the food outlets. Ensuring that all the guidelines are followed properly, they have said that the authority is reachable through the toll-free hotline 80055.
