It has been some time since Bangladesh started making headlines everywhere for ongoing political unrest. From protests to riots, too many incidents are taking place in the country. Amid all these alarming news and updates, Sheikh Hasina tendered her resignation. Also, multiple reports making rounds on the Internet and news channels state that she has left Bangladesh too.

According to a report by India Today, a top military official revealed that the Bangladesh Prime Minister fled the country on August 5. After being in power for around 15 years, she resigned on Monday and left the country. PM and her sister fled for a safe shelter. The news of her quitting as Bangladesh’s Prime Minister came in between news of about 300 deaths, public protests, and intense present political turmoil in the country.

A huge number of protestors rushed outside her official home in Dhaka after the news of her departure broke out. In a conversation with media personnel, Waker-Uz-Zaman, Bangladesh army chief General, stated that an interim government would be formed to take charge and run the country. He talked about the major crisis and revealed opposition leaders and the army’s conversation to form an interim government.

According to a report by NDTV, the army chief General took responsibility and promised to save lives and properties. He requested everyone to support the army and stop the violence. Addressing the media on Monday, Waker-Uz-Zaman asked people to work with them to find a solution. “We cannot achieve anything through violence”, he shared.

Protestors Stormed At The Bangladesh PM’s Residence

According to multiple reports and news channels, Sheikh Hasina flew out of the capital of Bangladesh in a military chopper. After she went away from her official residence Ganabhaban, protestors began to rush to the place. They broke doors and threw furniture and were seen shouting slogans there. According to a report by The Hindu, groups of protesters lit a fire at the Awami League party office in Dhanmandi.
