Bar Wars is unique in India. It focuses on the partnership between bartenders and servers. The journey to victory began with over 400 teams submitting entries via Instagram reels. These teams then competed in live events in eight major cities. The top 72 bartender-server duos battled for the coveted title. What made this year’s competition stand out was the consumer-driven judging process. Over 100 consumers at each event tasted cocktails, evaluated pitches, and voted by awarding tokens to the bartenders. Their votes ultimately decided which team would win.
After a month of intense competition across the country, INJA from Delhi emerged victorious. Their win earned them the prestigious title of Bar Wars 2024 champions, a cash prize of ₹2 lakhs, and the opportunity for an international bar takeover with Greater Than Gin. INJA’s teamwork, creativity, and flawless execution set them apart from the other competitors.

The grand finale saw India’s top bar teams gather in Goa. These included Jamming Goat from Hyderabad, Papa’s from Mumbai, Whisky Samba from Gurgaon, Muro from Bangalore, and many others. Each team brought their best cocktails and pitches. INJA, however, stole the show with their ingenuity and teamwork, which won over the crowd and the judges.
Anand Virmani, co-founder of NAO Spirits, praised the competition, noting that Bar Wars had become a favourite event for the company. He highlighted how the competition brought attention to the talented servers, who often go unnoticed for their hard work. He also emphasised the transparency of the event, which involved consumers in the judging process—something he said had not been done in bar competitions worldwide. Virmani expressed pride in all the teams that participated, acknowledging their dedication and skill.
Greater Than’s Bar Wars has travelled across India, showcasing the best bartenders and servers. This year’s competition highlighted the camaraderie, innovation, and energy that define India’s vibrant bar culture.
