Basar Confluence is a community-based tourism festival where the Leparada district community is involved in its organisation. The seventh edition of Basar Confluence, the cultural festival of Arunachal Pradesh, will take place from December 6 to 8, 2024. The festival began in 2017.

This Is How You Can Reach Basar Confluence!
In India’s northeastern state of Arunachal Pradesh, lies the beautiful town of Basar. Making its home in the Leparade district, it is blessed with lush green landscapes, majestic hills, and unique tribal culture. This is what attracts eco-friendly tourism in this town. It is also home to the Galo tribe.
The nearest airport to Basar is Assam’s Dibrugarh Airport, which is a four-hour drive with cabs available, while the second nearest airport is Itanagar’s Donyi Polo Airport. The nearest railway station is Assam’s Dibrugarh Railway Station, with cabs available.
As a protected state under the Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation Act, Arunachal Pradesh requires a permit for all non-residents, including Indian citizens and foreigners, to enter the state.
For Indian citizens, an Inner Line Permit (ILP) is required, which can be obtained from district administration offices or tourist facilitation centres.
For foreigners, a Protected Area Permit (PAP) is needed, which they can obtain from a registered tour operator.
Places For Accommodation
There are a variety of options for accommodation at Basar Confluence, including hotels, cosy homestays, or even camping at breathtaking locations where you can interact with other campers. For a hassle-free stay, you can book in advance.
There are a few places you can choose from, such as Hotel Mansiri if you want to stay in a hotel, Eeku Camp if you want to go camping, or Hill Top Homestay if you want to stay in a homestay.

Things To Do In Arunachal Pradesh’s Basar
Apart from the Basar Confluence, there are a few places and hills you can visit to experience the beauty of Arunachal Pradesh. You can visit the Tapen Penru, also called the Bat Cave, which is located in Padi village. The trek is a blend of muddy trails, ladders, and crossings toru beautiful waterfalls.
Another place is Joli, which is known as a haunted spot in Basar near Gori Village as it is believed to be the place of Yapoms, a group of spirits, and they consider the Anglo people of Gori villages as their relatives. To get a panoramic view of the village, you can also climb the steep Oduptu hill.

The tickets for the festival will be out soon. However, to get an idea of it, the ticket prices in 2023 were ₹100 for citizens of Leparada, ₹1000 for citizens of Arunachal Pradesh, and ₹2000 for the rest of the people, whether Indians or foreigners.
