Jay Shah, the secretary of the BCCI, announced on X on Saturday that the new National Cricket Academy (NCA) will soon be opened in Bangalore. It will feature 45 practice grounds, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, and other amenities.

“Very excited to announce that the BCCI ’s new National Cricket Academy (NCA) is almost complete and will be opening shortly in Bengaluru,” Shah wrote on X. “The new NCA will feature three world-class playing grounds, 45 practice pitches, indoor cricket pitches, an Olympic-size swimming pool and state-of-the-art training, recovery and sports science facilities.”

The NCA’s new premises are going to be a hub of excellence for the diverse needs of cricketers at every stage of their development. The inclusion of 45 practice pitches is particularly noteworthy. These pitches are designed to replicate different playing surfaces worldwide, offering a realistic training experience. The Olympic-sized swimming pool is another highlight, offering athletes a place for cross-training and recovery. Swimming is a highly effective low-impact exercise that aids in muscle recovery, increases cardiovascular fitness and helps build endurance. The integration of cutting-edge technology into training routines is a hallmark of the new NCA.
