Being the daughter of one of Bollywood’s biggest superstars must have a lot of perks! It also, however, has another side that we don’t know about. So, when we sat down with Tina Ahuja for a delicious meal this Sunday at her Juhu home, we asked her what it was like growing up as Govinda’s daughter. Here’s what she said.
Tina Ahuja On Being Govinda’s Daughter & How It Affected Her School Life
Tina Ahuja shared that she comes from a very grounded family. Despite the name and fame that came with her father, Govinda’s Bollywood career, she was always taught to be down to earth. When we asked if she was treated any differently by her friends or people at school, she shared that people in her school also hailed from good families and some even came from filmy backgrounds like her. So, she was never treated like Bollywood royalty.
She added that the credit of her grounded upbringing goes to her dadi and parents. “When you climb the mountain, you also have to come down and restart again. So, woh feeling main zindagi main kabhi aane hi nahi di,” she added.
According to Tina, she has many sweet memories from school. She shared that once Govinda was shooting for a movie in Australia and her drama teacher requested him to bring some books for her from a store there. Like a good father, he brought her those books, despite his tight schedule, and she was able to gift them to her teacher.

What She Loves The Most About Her Parents
Of all the things Tina Ahuja loves about her father, she feels that his sincerity and willingness to still make efforts for his wife, Sunita Ahuja, is her favourite. She said, “Ek cheez joh mujhe apne father ke baare main bahut pasand hai is that when he comes to meet her anywhere, he’ll come all decked up! Ek dum daadi waadi karke, goggle laga ke, ek dum hero banke jaenge.”
She further added that the one thing she admires and has learnt from her parents is that they always like to make an effort for each other and dress well, no matter where they are going.
