At Kempegowda International Airport (KIA), hundreds of passengers vented their resentment towards SpiceJet employees after their aircraft from Bengaluru to Mumbai was delayed by 14 hours. There were arguments between passengers over why there were no other plans in place to get them to their destination. Here’s what happened at the Bengaluru Airport.
SpiceJet Passengers Create Ruckus At Bengaluru Airport
There were chaotic scenes at Bengaluru Airport’s gate number 15, as about 250 people were forced to get off the aircraft due to a technical issue. One passenger said they had boarded the aircraft, which was due to take off at six in the morning. Passengers were asked to disembark from the aircraft due to technical problems after more than two hours of travel.
The SpiceJet employees allegedly told the customers that the flight had been rescheduled for 12 pm after they had returned to the boarding counter. Afterwards, it was rescheduled for 3 p.m. and is currently at 8:30 p.m., a traveller who was waiting at the airport said. One of the passengers was overheard stating that she had an urgent job to go to Mumbai by 3 pm. The passengers were observed fighting with the crew over the flight’s inexplicable delay and providing inaccurate information.
According to a passenger, it was a horrible flight from Bengaluru to Mumbai on SpiceJet. The flight was postponed by 20 minutes from its original 6 am schedule. They arrived at the airport at three in the morning and boarded the flight promptly. Further, they boarded for two to three hours, and after that, the passengers were told there was a technical problem. The departure was rescheduled for midday, then 3:15 pm, and finally 8:30 pm but no one listened to them.

Angry Flyers At Kolkata Airport
Passengers on SpiceJet flights from Kolkata, including international flights to Bangkok, have been inconvenienced by frequent delays, which have angered them on social media. Airport authorities in Kolkata said that several SpiceJet aircraft were experiencing frequent delays, which was causing passengers to become irritated. Industry insiders claimed the airline has experienced comparable delays all over its network.
At Delhi Airport:
On Friday, a fracas broke out at the Delhi airport when travellers protested about a seven-hour delay in their SpiceJet aircraft. The airline clarified as soon as possible in a statement that the passengers had been “duly informed of the schedule changes.”
A group of customers on a SpiceJet flight from Delhi to Patna got into a violent argument with airline employees on Friday afternoon due to the delay. An infuriated customer posted a video of a group of people fighting with airline employees. SpiceJet also released a statement in response to the event, emphasising that the passengers were “duly informed” of the change in flight timings last night.
Dubai Flight Delay:
More than 100 passengers on a SpiceJet flight scheduled to depart from this location for Dubai on Wednesday were forced to wait more than ten hours for a trip that typically takes only two hours or so to cover roughly 2,000 kilometres. In addition, frequent travellers said that in recent years, delays have become a routine occurrence with the only direct route from Pune to the Middle East.
