In a major step towards enhancing the logistics capabilities of South India, Kempegowda International Airport (BLR) has launched a state-of-the-art logistics park. The ₹200-crore development will significantly improve the region’s cargo infrastructure and meet the growing demand for efficient and reliable logistics solutions. The park covers over eight acres and offers cutting-edge facilities to handle the rising volume of both international and domestic cargo movements.
Strategic Location To Enhance Connectivity
The new logistics park at Bengaluru Airport is strategically located to leverage the airport’s robust connectivity, which links the city to key global markets. According to Moneycontrol, the park is equipped with essential facilities such as warehousing, cold storage, and integrated logistics solutions.
AISATS (Air India SATS Airport Services Private Limited) and Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) have jointly developed the facility to enhance South India’s cargo network and boost regional trade and commerce. They have designed the infrastructure to support a wide range of logistics and cargo services.
Bengaluru Logistics Park’s Impact On Regional Economy And Global Trade
The launch of this logistics park is expected to have a transformative impact on South India’s economy. Bengaluru, being a hub for technology, manufacturing, and innovation, will benefit from the additional infrastructure to support the movement of critical goods such as electronics, pharmaceuticals, and automotive parts.

The development is especially crucial as India continues to establish itself as a global supply chain hub, driving both export and import activities. The new facility will cater to a wide range of industries, providing the infrastructure needed to facilitate trade across multiple sectors.
Improved Infrastructure For Seamless Cargo Handling
The logistics park offers enhanced storage and transport facilities to ensure smooth handling of high-value, time-sensitive cargo efficiently. It includes temperature-controlled spaces for perishable goods like food, medicine, and flowers that require specific conditions during transit.
Rising demand for cold storage and perishable handling, especially after the pandemic, makes this development particularly relevant and timely. The park streamlines cargo movement by reducing transit time and increasing operational efficiency across domestic and international logistics chains.
