A Bengaluru-based entrepreneur faced quite a backlash on X (formerly Twitter) for seeking cafe recommendations where she can work without ordering anything. In the tweet, the woman asked for cafe suggestions in the HSR Layout area with strong Wi-Fi and no expectation to order. Netizens were unimpressed by her tweet and hundreds of them trolled her in the comments section.
Bengaluru Entrepreneur Looks For Cafes To Work From Without Ordering
need suggestions for cafes in HSR layout which have
1. strong wi-fi
2. don’t expect you to order
3. (optional) – comfortable seating— Bhavya Arora (@bhavyaroar) September 9, 2024
If you’re a remote worker, then you know how boring it can be to work from home every day! You often have the urge to sit in a nice cafe but spending a moolah during every visit can put quite a dent in your account! We believe this thought is what prompted X user, Bhavya Arora, to ask for cafes in HSR Layout where one can work without any expectations of ordering!
Bhavya, a Bengaluru-based entrepreneur, took to X (formerly Twitter) to ask people for recommendations of cafes where she can work from. Her only requirements were strong Wi-Fi, no expectations of ordering, and optional, comfortable seating!
and cafes know this and are okay with. i might not order today, tomorrow – but if I keep coming to the same cafe everyday, i will eventually order. cafe WILL recoup its costs. In fact, I might invite my friends also. the group will eventually order.

After facing a lot of backlash online for her tweet, she tried to explain her point. In a follow-up tweet, she said, “Can’t a girl want to just work from an empty cafe without ordering. I get it that if people are waiting for a table, I should and will vacate the table. But if it is empty- WHAT’S THE PROBLEM!”
Netizens Share Their Two Cents On This
Netizens were not impressed with Bhavya’s tweet. Hundreds of them commented on her post and took examples of how she would have liked it if someone was using her home for free. Here are some comments from the post that you cannot miss!
