RCB Fans Take To Bengaluru Streets To Celebrate Massive WPL 2024 Victory
RCB fan base for long, has been chided with their slogan “Ee Sala Cup Namde” ( This year, the cup is ours). On beating Delhi Capitals in the final of the WPL 2024 in a low-scoring thriller, Captain Smriti Mandhana proudly said, “Ee Sala Cup Namdu( This year, we’ve got the cup). Rest assured, celebrations galore in Bengaluru as fans thronged MG road, with many standing right outside the RCB Bar & Cafe, chanting “RCB” in unison. The cacophony of honking vehicles, the celebratory dances by the roads and the march of victory took the city by storm.
It was bleed bold and bleed red for RCB fans. After RCB’s massive victory, fans came out of their homes in large numbers to celebrate this glory. Many videos weren’t viral where fans enjoyed the title win after waiting for 16 years, ever since the start of the Indian Premier League. Many X (formerly Twitter) users took to the microblogging platform to share glimpses of the ecstatic victory celebrations in Bengaluru.

After 16-Year-Long Wait, The Trophy Comes Home
Prithvi, an X user said that if anyone told him a few years ago that crowds would flood the streets and block roads to celebrate a women’s league title, he would have brushed it off. However, the scale of celebrations shows a paradigm shift which can redefine the landscape of women’s cricket in India. @iYashMall replied that RCB fans like him waited for too long for this title win. They didn’t care whether the men clinched the trophy or the women. The fans just wanted to put an end to the curse. He cited the example of his hostel roommate who started crying out of happiness when Richa hit the winning runs.

I was passing by Koramangala in an auto last night and the victory marches on pavements, the RCB chants, filled my heart with pride. As an RCB fan, I’m overwhelmed with this historic victory. And that’s exactly what this means to RCB fans across India and the globe. There are viral videos of fans bursting firecrackers in Telangana and dancing their hearts out in Dharwad.
