Incidents of roads packed with vehicles making headlines are not new for Bengalureans. Be it heavy showers or a peak holiday season, the city’s relentless traffic congestion often becomes the talk of the town. In a recent similar episode in Namma Karnataka, the bustling flyover and roads were found in a waterlogged state. These triggered extreme traffic snarls in different areas and the Electronics City flyover became one of the most affected areas.
On Wednesday evening, commuters stuck in congestion for hours found no definite solution to reach home on their company cabs and buses after a tiring day at work. After waiting for about three hours on the crowded flyover, thousands of frustrated citizens ditched office vehicles and headed to their houses on foot. Walking home looked like a better solution than remaining standstill in a crippling jam.
The Bengaluru traffic police closed a side of the busy Electronics City flyover after massive showers triggered waterlogging on Wednesday evening, according to a report by The Times of India. Infuriated with last evening’s experiences, many techies took to social media platforms to voice out their concerns and describe the terrible hours they had to spend stuck in the traffic. Fed up with the chaos, they started complaining about how it took hours for the vehicles to cover a short distance.
