A man jumped in front of an oncoming train and died at the Doddakallasandra Metro Station in Bengaluru on Saturday evening. The deceased was a 57-year-old man who lived in the KS Layout area of Bengaluru. The tragic incident caused a significant interruption in Green Line and services were temporarily suspended between Yelachenahalli and Silk Institute Metro Stations of Bengaluru.

A 57-year-old man, identified as Naveen Kumar Arora, took his own life by jumping in front of a moving train at the Doddakallasandra Metro Station in Bengaluru. The unfortunate incident happened on Saturday around 5:45 PM. As per a Deccan Herald report, this is the fifth such incident where a person jumped on the Metro tracks in the city this year.

The Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) took to X (formerly Twitter) to confirm the incident. A team of Police officials reached the spot and recovered the body. They took the body of the deceased to the hospital for postmortem. BMRCL also mentioned that they will launch an investigation to ascertain the cause of this incident.

The man has been identified as Naveen Kumar Arora. He was a resident of Kumaraswamy Layout and was 57 years old. There has been no suicide note recovered from the station that could clarify the reason for the extreme step taken by Naveen.

Services Suspended On Green Line For Several Hours

The tragic accident of the man jumping in front of the moving metro ended up disrupting train services on the Green Line of the Bengaluru Metro. As per The Indian Express report, train services on the Green Line were suspended temporarily. This was between Yelachenahalli and Silk Institute Metro stations.

This caused great inconvenience to commuters during the evening rush hour. Many were left stranded for hours. While others had to face massive traffic congestion on the Kanakapura Main Road due to the rush. The services finally resumed at 8.45 PM on Saturday and BMRCL announced it on X (formerly Twitter).
