We grew up hearing, “A little kindness goes a long way,” but we have come across only a few instances in life where we truly understood its meaning. This story of a speech-impaired cab driver in Bengaluru depicts how the smallest efforts and gestures can make someone feel special.

On Wednesday, Sivasubramaniam Jayaraman travelled in a cab in the Karnataka capital and was amazed to meet Mr. Rakesh, the cab driver. What is so special about him? Well, Rakesh offers trips to airports at discounted prices. People who have travelled between Bengaluru city and the airport know this journey can be quite expensive. He charges ₹950 from the city to the airport and ₹1,150 to travel from the airport.

In addition to cheaper airport rides, he also provides sealed water bottles, short story and poem books, and napkins for passengers. Though Sivasubramaniam was not heading to the airport, the driver offered him water.
