Both the interiors and exteriors of the station have been designed following modern designs that not only look great but also are very convenient for the passengers. Ministry of Railways made the announcement by sharing a video of the Sir M. Visvesvaraya Railway Terminal on their official Twitter account captioning ‘Modern, World-Class, Airport-Like: Sir M. Visvesvaraya Railway Terminal, Bengaluru’. The station has truly set a revolutionising standard with its extraordinary features.

Facilities At The Sir M. Visvesvaraya Railway Terminal:
- Sir M. Visvesvaraya Railway Terminal is the first Indian station to have an air-conditioned lobby of 900 sq m.
- This station has 7 platforms with a parking area for 900 two-wheelers, 250 four-wheelers 50 auto rickshaws, and 20 cabs.
- The 4,200-metre terminal has a beautiful canopy.
- There are 2 subways with ramps for convenience, a foot-over bridge, elevators, escalators, and stairs.
- The station has been made a Divyang-friendly railway station. In fact, there is a ticket counter for differently-abled passengers.
- There are reserved premium lounges as well for a better experience for the passengers.
- With all these amenities and facilities, there are waiting halls for males and females, and a food court too.
- Indian Railways spent about ₹314 crores on the development of this terminal.

Sir M. Visvesvaraya Railway Terminal was supposed to be open for passengers in 2020 but the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic took a halt to everything. Now it is open to the general public after the Karnataka government initiated this on 6 June.
