Bengaluru Traffic Police To Launch ASTraM, A Super-App, That Will Offer Traffic Updates, Option To Report Accidents & More

Bengaluru surely opens its doors to wonderful experiences but locals and tourists often get irritated by the never-ending traffic congestion and halts for hours on roads. The only solution during such moments is to wait and refresh online maps for updates. While there are no efficient ways to solve the traffic woes, Bengaluru is set to get a super-app named ASTraM to resolve many issues.

Soon, Bengaluru Traffic Police Will Introduce The New ASTraM App

Folks of Bengaluru, do you remember an app named ASTraM was introduced in January 2024? Its primary purposes were to give real-time traffic information and understand the patterns on roads. Now, the Bengaluru Traffic Police is ready for another new launch and it is named ASTraM (Actionable Intelligence for Sustainable Traffic Management) app as well. Though the names may confuse users, the upcoming mobile app will be different from the current one.

Right now, the concerned teams are working on making the application, according to a report by Deccan Herald. If the process continues as per the plans, the Bengaluru Traffic Police will introduce it and make it operational in the next couple of months. It will not be available only to state updates about traffic snarls in the Karnataka capital.

M N Anucheth, the Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic), shared that the ASTraM app by Bengaluru Traffic Police will inform users of traffic jam alerts within a radius of 5 km. In addition, there will be more features of this app such as users will be able to report any incidents about accidents on the road. Another feature of the super-app will be to allow users to pay traffic fines.

More Information About The Super-App

The Karnataka government has approved several projects and procurement proposals. The ASTraM app by Bengaluru Traffic Police falls under these new and innovative projects. There are major hopes with this super-app. Apart from being a platform for traffic updates, it will also play a crucial role in reporting accidents that may hamper vehicular movements.

Rather than using different apps for several purposes, ASTraM will be the one-stop online platform for all traffic-related issues.
