Traffic Sign Near Cubbon Park In Bengaluru, Misread By Commuters As ā€œFollow Someone Homeā€

An X user, Sumukh Rao shared a picture of a traffic signboard near Cubbon Park in Bengaluru. The traffic signboard seems to stand apart from other conventional road safety advice. At first glance, it reads, ā€œFollow Someone Homeā€. However, a closer look at it unravels the other words which are printed in smaller font size. So, the signboard actually reads, ā€œFollow Traffic Rules. Someone Is Waiting At Home For Youā€. It ends with a message urging commuters to ā€œOber Traffic Rulesā€.

In addition to the picture shared, the X user asked in his caption who thought it was a good sign to put up. He adds that it reads so bad when driving past it as one canā€™t see the text printed in smaller font. This initiative by the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) generated chuckles on social media. While it was formulated with a deep message in mind with the intention to coax introspection, the vast difference in font size and the wording has left to its widespread misinterpretation.
